"Hireoglitchs" delves into the fusion of ancient script and contemporary digital mishaps, inspired by video game culture. This artwork merges literature, mythology, and digital distortion. The name, a twist on "hieroglyphs," alludes to the visual quirks of classic NES games, where code anomalies become abstract imagery. As media ages and degrades, its messages may grow indistinct or broken, open to new interpretations. "Hireoglitchs" captures this degradation, turning it into a visual feast that explores the boundaries of comprehension.

The piece consists of two polymer panels on stands, displaying coded symbols carved via a digital method. The images are produced by software that converts Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" into glitchy icons, with the occasional legible character. These are combined with iconic images from Mario Bros, weaving a mosaic of gaming history.

Hireoglitchs was created during the "Projet émergent" residency at the digital art center Perte de signal. Perte de signal
